As we approach this Memorial Day weekend, many people will be traveling, visiting friends, attending cookouts, maybe boating on the lake or visiting the beach. Let's take a moment to remember what Memorial Day really means. Many Americans soldiers gave the greatest sacrifice for their country. Their sacrifice cannot be underestimated, nor can the sacrifice by their families be diminished. Let's honor those who gave their lives so that we could enjoy this weekend. Thank you to our men and women around the world who give of themselves for our protection. We honor you and we thank you!

I started with State Farm as a Homeowner Adjuster in 1988 and 10 years later I opened my doors as an agent giving me 35 years serving the community. I earned my Bachelors of Engineering degree from East Carolina University — go Pirates! On the weekends, you are likely to find me taking my Harley Davidson out for a ride or reading an intriguing US Presidential biography. Additionally, my wife Jane and I advocate for adopting rescue dogs. To date, we've rescued six doggies and six kitties. We currently have a cat named Jake who understands the importance of having the right purr-tection.

My wife, Jane, also serves in the worship Ministry playing her harp in our church orchestra.
